I was in the car, listening to an album

I was in the car, listening to an album, let's call it Album 1, on my iPod. At some point during each song, it would skip to the next track. Occasionally it wouldn't skip, but would make a noise, like tape getting mangled in a cassette player. I had recently reset my iPod, switched laptops and copied everything over; I guessed that the files had got corrupted. Reluctantly I switched to Album 2, which was fine.

A couple of weeks later I was on my bike, listening to Album 2. At some point during each song, it would skip to the next track. Occasionally it wouldn't skip, but would make a noise, like tape getting mangled in a cassette player.

But that's the thing about Apple stuff... it just works.
